It is with great pleasure that we provide you with an exciting update about our new Lexington Public School Playground. School Council recently approved the final plans for the new structure. We look forward to seeing this structure installed by the end of this school year! We encourage you to check out the amazing playground design that the committee has put together. We are very pleased with the quality and layout of the new structure, as it provides the best value for our budget with optimal play quality.
School Council’s goal is to raise the almost $30,000 needed for our new playground, allowing us to avoid taking on a loan from the school board. With the generous support of our families, friends and community, by way of fundraising and/or donations, we are well on target for making this goal a reality!
November and December are our Poinsettia and Gourmet Pretzel fundraisers. In February, all proceeds from our popular Scholastic Book Fair will go toward the playground. Around Easter we will be doing another Big Box of Cards and if we are still in need of some funds, we will end with a Kernel’s popcorn campaign. We will raise funds until we reach our target. Once we reach our target, any remaining campaign plans will be cancelled.
A big thank you goes out to the community for the continued efforts to help us raise these much needed funds. It is hard work, but we know it will be worth it when we see the playground installed and ready for play! Your support and commitment to helping our school community and surrounding neighbourhood is greatly appreciated.
