Re: Wednesday, September 6th!
Dear Lexington Families,
The Waterloo Region District School Board has shared that parents/guardians will find out their child(ren)’s homeroom assignment via School Day. If you are a parent or caregiver using School-Day, you will be able to view classroom information starting Saturday, September 2nd. Please click here to follow the steps to find out your child(ren)’s class placement for this upcoming school year 2023-2024. Please click here for the list of educator assignments for the 2023/2024 School Year.
On Wednesday morning, at Lexington Public School, Kindergarten students will be greeted by their educators at the Kindergarten Open Play Area (i.e., Kindie Field). Please consider putting a first name and last initial label on their person or backpack.
Walking students should arrive by 9:05 a.m., as close to our bell time as possible. This is when supervision begins and when our staff will be outside assisting students in finding their teachers and homeroom meeting areas. Please see relevant information regarding meeting areas for the first days of school below:
-
All Kindergarten Students – Kindergarten Open Play Area (i.e., Kindie Field)
-
All Grade 1-6 Students – On Soccer Field
Kindly note that dismissal for the first week of school for our Grade 1-6 students will take place on the soccer field for safe hand-off to parents/guardians, bus and extended day. We kindly request that only one adult caregiver come to school on Wednesday, September 6th to minimize congestion on Lexington school grounds. We also ask that all canine family members say goodbye to students at home. Thank you for respecting our no-dog rule on school grounds.
We look forward to seeing you Wednesday, September 6th at 9:05 a.m. We hope that students and families are feeling excitement, anticipation, and hope about starting a brand new school year here at Lexington Public School! Please click here to read all things Lexington and what our students and families can expect during the school year.
Please note that our office will be closed on Monday, September 4th due to Labour Day, and will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5th. Wishing you all a wonderful long weekend!
Warmest Regards,
Ms. A. Dhaul, Principal
