Parents play a vital role in education.  When parents are engaged and involved, everyone — students, parents, families, teachers, schools, and communities — benefits, and our schools become increasingly rich and positive places to teach, learn, and grow.

–Parents in Partnership:  A Parent Engagement Policy for Ontario Schools

All parents are welcome to come out to Lexington’s School Council.  This is a great way to get information about what’s happening at the school.  Meetings include staff representatives.  Meeting dates for 2017-2018 are listed below.  Fundraising and volunteering is not required and you will not be recruited for more committees.

School Council is a great way to get to know the principal, some staff members and other parents.  Discussion relates to upcoming events at Lexington, updates from Waterloo Regional Assembly of Parent Councils, parent nights, report card information, and much more.  Find out how busy life at Lexington can be for the staff and students.  It is interesting to find out the ‘why’ behind class selection and events from a whole school picture rather than just your child’s view.  It’s a great way to stay informed about your community school and the many events taking place during and after regular classes.

School Council at Lexington is a very casual and inclusive way to stay informed and ask questions about your community school and to share your ideas.

All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend!
